National Parks in Madagascar

The National Parks in Madagascar are one of the best reasons to visit. And there are many! Madagascar has the highest percentage of endemicity on earth. 90% of all species found on the island are endemic to the island. That’s absolutely crazy!

As you can imagine the National Parks in Madagascar provides excellent examples of that. They’re all showcasing Madagascar’s most valuable treasure; its nature.

Many of the National Parks are very different from each other. Madagascar is home to many climates and micro-climates, which shows in its selection of landscapes. Some National Parks in Madagascar are rainforest, some are spiny forests, some are deserts, some are stone formations containing numerous microclimates between cliff walls, and some are limestone. The selection is marvelous.

Choosing which National Parks to visit when setting a course towards Madagascar, can prove to be quite the challenge. Some parks such as Andasibe National Park are very popular, and others are almost inaccessible. Asking yourself what you want to gain from your vacation apart from experiencing nature, is a good way to start. That will help you set the route. When you know your route, it’s easy to find a National Park (or 10) on the way.

A good tip from me is to try to experience parks in different climates. That will provide the largest selection of flora and fauna and a whole bunch of different experiences. Perhaps a combination of Isalo (stone formations), Kirindi (dry forest), and Andasibe (rainforest) will create a great foundation for a lifetime of memories.

Hopefully, these articles will help!
